Story
On Friday 21st June, CLSG staff and students will walk an impressive 11 miles from Hampton Court to Kew Cricket Green in their Annual Sponsored Walk to support Street Child's work in Liberia, improving access to education for the most vulnerable and out-of-school children.
Street Child say that the fundraising from The City of London School for Girls will enable the construction of the first school at the heart of the Deabo Saykilken community in River Gee County in southern Liberia. This will provide the opportunity for at least 70 children to go to school for the first time ever this September!
Through the construction of a three classroom school and teacher training provision, children in this community will gain access to their first safe and sustained school experience. Presently, the children of Deabo Saykilken have no access to education facilities.
The proposed construction of the three-classroom school will be the first educational infrastructure in this community.
