I am raising money in memory of my son Martin Nimmo. He received excellent care from St Andrew's Hospice during the last month of his life and I'd like to help them continue the wonderful work they do to provide care and treatment for those living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Why Ben Nevis ? In his early twenties, while working at the Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve, Martin led parties of volunteers to the summit of Ben Nevis.

Also, he liked a challenge and was always encouraging others to push themselves and as I've never attempted the summit this is a perfect challenge !

So, an ascent of 4435 feet over 10.5 miles taking between 7 and 9 hours ! Wish me luck !
