Back in 1996, I travelled to Kenya to celebrate my 40th birthday. That single visit changed my life forever—and began my 30-year journey of supporting this incredible school.Ever since that pivotal trip, I have stood by this UK charity as it provided a trusted, high-quality education to vulnerable children. Over three decades, I have watched proudly as the school supported 900 graduates, helping them break the cycle of poverty and change their local communities.Now, 30 years on, the school we love is facing a deeply challenging moment.To protect the 260 pupils currently in our care from legal closure, the charity recently had to invest heavily in urgent, government-mandated safety and curriculum upgrades. While the hard work to secure our students' legal future is successfully done, these essential costs have left our financial reserves at an all-time low, putting the charity in a very vulnerable position.Without a financial cushion, our day-to-day operations are exposed to any unexpected cost or utility increase.We chose to prioritize our children’s safety, and now we need to rebuild our foundations so we can keep running smoothly through 2027 and beyond.
