Story

I'm Taking on the Zip Wire Challenge for Forget Me Notts.

Forget Me Notts is a wonderful dementia-focused project run by the Trent Bridge Community Trust. Every week, they host sessions full of social and sporting activities for people living with dementia and their carers - like my Grandad. These sessions aim to reduce social isolation, encourage physical activity, and provide vital support to those affected by dementia, both directly and indirectly.

My Grandad has been attending Forget Me Notts for over four years now, and the impact it has had on him and our family has been incredible. We’re so grateful for the kindness, care, and community the project offers. Special Mention to Olivia who runs the sessions with such dedication.

To say thank you and to help keep this amazing initiative going, I am taking part in the Trent Bridge Community Zip Wire Challenge on Sunday 7th September at 1:30pm, alongside my brother Glenn, raising funds for Forget Me Notts.

I know zip wiring might not sound like a huge deal to some - but I’m terrified of heights (even the small ones!) so, this really is a challenge for me.

For those who know me, you’ll know just how much my Grandad means to me. He’s always been my biggest supporter, and now I want to do something to support him, and the incredible service that’s supported him in return.

If you’re able to support me with a donation - big or small - it would mean so much. Every penny raised goes towards a cause that has personally touched our lives and continues to support many others in the community.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for any support you can give.
