Before Forget Me Notts, we hadn’t long had Derrie’s diagnosis and we were going through the medical options, without knowing much about the care, respite and stimulation. We felt isolated. This changed once we got involved at FMN for both of us as it gave us a purpose and acted as a springboard to other events. We both get so much out of the sessions and have met so many amazing people. It is part of our weekly structure and not once has Derrie said she doesn’t want to attend. She enjoys the activities, some of which she has never done before, and enjoys catching up with others. As a carer, it gives me a purpose, some respite and allows me to interact with others. I feel less alone when I’m attending. To summarise in 3 words is hard, however, caring, helpful and fun. The fact that FMN is constantly evolving is down to everyone involved and that we are all working towards a common goal of helping vulnerable, lonely people in our community. I know there are going to be even more special events this year and that is great for everyone. Thank you for all you do at Trent Bridge Community Trust.
