Story
I have helped Children of Fire in different ways for the past six years. I was on site for 13 months. I travelled to Mozambique and to the DRC to help burns survivors, as the charity works across Africa. It also links with the burns fraternity in Europe, Asia, North America, Australasia. I even assisted the founder and Dorah in Scotland. Now I am going to return to Dragon Peaks in the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa to start preparing teenagers to climb Mt Ras Dejen in Ethiopia. We need help with the costs of training, preparation, documentation, vaccinations and dental checkups, insurance, top quality mountaineering equipment and specialised all-weather clothing, porters, food, and travel. It is a tall order, but No Mountain is Too High. I ask my friends, colleagues, family, other volunteers, fellow Portuguese, and anyone who believes in uplifting children who have survived fire, to climb to the highest heights, to literally reach for the skies.
