Story
Kidney Care UK is a cause close to my heart. My dad, Mazid Khondoker, lived with complete kidney failure and underwent dialysis three times a week for the ten years before his death in 2024. It was a relentless routine that shaped his life. Yet he faced it without complaint, always grateful for the extraordinary care he received from the renal team at Lewisham Hospital.
In his honour, I'm walking 100km (from London to Brighton!), alongside my wonderful friend, Rebecca Neve, to raise vital funds for Kidney Care UK. Their mission is simple and powerful: to ensure that no one faces kidney disease alone. They provide practical, emotional and financial support to kidney patients and their families.
If you’re able to donate, whatever the amount, it would mean so much. Your support will help families navigating dialysis, transplants, and the life-changing impact of kidney disease.
If you can’t donate right now, sharing this page would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you for helping me turn a cause my dad cared about so deeply into something that can support others.
With love and gratitude,
Fiona xxx
