Story
On 1st January 2026
I’ll begin a walk of more than 2,000 miles — starting at the northern tip of Shetland, through Scotland, England, and Wales, before crossing into Ireland and finishing on its southern coast. It will take 6–7 months, starting in the middle of winter, with all the challenges that brings.
Why am I doing this?
Because for over 40 years, I’ve lived with bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, and dyslexia. Some days have been about nothing more than putting one foot in front of the other. This walk is a symbol of that — a reminder that even in the darkest storms, it may still be possible to move one step forward.
I’m raising money for Aware
who provide support, education, and hope for people living with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder across Ireland. Their work helps people feel less alone and gives them tools to manage their mental health.
This walk is about connection, honesty, and courage. Every step is for the vital work Aware does every day.
Thank you for standing with me.
