Story
On 1st January 2026,
I’ll begin a walk of more than 2,000 miles — starting at the northern tip of Shetland, through Scotland, England, and Wales, before crossing into Ireland and finishing on its southern coast. It will take 6–7 months, starting in the middle of winter, with all the challenges that brings.
Why am I doing this?
Because for over 40 years, I’ve lived with bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, and dyslexia. Some days have been about nothing more than putting one foot in front of the other. This walk is a symbol of that — a reminder that even in the darkest storms, it may still be possible to move forward.
I’m raising money for SAMH
(Scottish Association for Mental Health), which, for over 100 years, has supported people across Scotland with their mental health. Their work saves lives, challenges stigma, and helps people find strength and hope.
This walk is about connection, honesty, and courage. Every step is for the vital work SAMH does every day.
Thank you for standing with me.
