60km for my 60th birthday

Fiona Bristow is raising money for Kanaama Interactive Community Support

60/60 walk · 20 July 2025

🌞 Support us to help children stay in school, teach women to read, write and run businesses and empower families with better farming skills, all through community-led, sustainable projects in rural Uganda 🇺🇬

Story

I'm back on the streets of London raising funds for Kanaama (new name, same charity) helping more women and children to learn and thrive.

Last year I walked 60km over a weekend (50km in a day the year before). This year I want to walk 60km in a day - especially as I've just celebrated my 60th birthday.

My fundraiser will help Kanaama’s school attendance support project, its literacy and livelihood project and its agriculture project. Small charity, big impact.

“Kanaama is the only organisation in Kashare Subcounty that is supporting rural women to realise their dreams through livelihood training, agriculture, literacy classes and village savings and loans groups.” Hadija Dumba, Chief of Kashare Subcounty Administration.

Together, we can make a big difference. Thank you for being part of this.
