Story
This year, my incredible auntie received the devastating news that she has been diagnosed with leukaemia. She’s faced cancer before with immense strength, and it feels deeply unfair that she’s now battling it again.
After much thought, she’s made the brave decision not to undergo treatment. Instead, she wants to spend her remaining time surrounded by her husband and family, cherishing every moment.
I’ve been moved by the outpouring of love and support from charities, the NHS, and our friends and family. It’s been a lifeline for all of us.
I want to say thank you in the only way I know how: by raising a small drop in the ocean that I hope will ripple far and wide.
To do this, I’ll be running the Tokyo Marathon on behalf of the Certified NPO National Bone Marrow Donor Promotion Liaison Council, and also raising funds closer to home for Leukaemia Care.
This will be my third attempt at a marathon, but my first time fundraising and I’m honoured to be doing it for two incredible charities. I’ll be sharing the highs, the lows, and the inevitable toenail casualties with you all. For now, any words of encouragement or donations, no matter how small, would mean the world to us all.
Training kicks off on 1st September, you're officially in this with me.
