Story
In 2024, I said “never again”… and here we are!! 😂 I’m taking on the London Marathon once again, but this time it’s for a reason that means so much to me. I’m running for Carers Trust, because at some point in our lives, many of us will find ourselves caring for someone we love. It can be challenging, exhausting and emotional, but ultimately, what a privilege it is to be there for someone when they need you most.
I’ll be running 26.2 miles through the streets of London, but this marathon will be very different. I’ll be carrying many names on my shirt, dedicating a mile to someone who is no longer here. I’ll be carrying their memories, their stories and the love they left behind with me every step of the way. One of those names will be Uncle Bobby, who will always be my hero. What that man faced, and the way he continued to smile until the very end, taught me so much. I’ll be thinking of him every single mile and carrying his memory with me around London, as always, my mum is at the front of everything I do. I know she’ll be looking down, and I’ll always want to make her proud. ❤️
As for the time… it really doesn’t matter although , I’ll be turning 40 that year, so if I somehow manage a 4:59, I’ll definitely take that as an added bonus! 😂 But the final time isn’t what this marathon is about It’s about the people I’m running for, the names on my shirt, the memories I’m carrying and the stories that deserve to be remembered.
And I can promise you this… this really will be my final marathon! 😂 My body is already saying, “For the love of God, not again!” If you can spare anything at all, I’d be incredibly grateful for your donation to Carers Trust. Every single pound will help support unpaid carers and the vital work that Carers Trust does.
Thank you for supporting me, for believing in me, and for helping me carry these memories and stories the whole 26.2 miles.
London 2027… let’s do this one last time. ❤️🏃♀️
