The challenge is called The Rebekah Way in honour of Rebekah and what she has achieved and what all women achieve.

105 miles in six days 30 800 metres of ascent, wild camp every night, refuel and restock in pubs of Lake District allowed and encouraged, it is the jewel of the United Kingdom. More ascent than Everest, harder than the Bob Graham Round, Harder than the SAS Pen y Fan route (I'd rather be done in 4 hours), harder than a marathon, harder than an ultra marathon, harder than a cagefight, harder than a boxing fight, just ask the men and women involved, we've done all of it.

The Bridge Hotel Buttermere, amongst other great sponsors will be the start and finish line.

Start line Monday 7th September, finish line Sunday 13th September. We will raise awareness of this great pub alongside this cause. We are scattering the ashes of the grandad of one of my best friends on top of the Old Man of Coniston Friday 11th September. Babylifeline, women and babies is why we are doing this, every single penny goes to them.

UPDATE

My amazing partner Rebekah gave birth to our beautiful boy Stan on the 28th April 2026.

Had it not been for the outstanding care provided by St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, they both wouldn't be here. Stan had meconium in his amniotic sac, his infection markers went to 18 and his lactic acid to 6, his heart rate to 250 and Rebekah's to 180. Rebekah stayed in hospital for five days, and Stan was in intensive care for 36 hours.

I have watched someone I love die for 18 hours, and what Rebekah and Stan went through was just as hard to see. If it was not for modern medicine I wouldn't have my son and amazing woman with me. I want to do something to honour them both, and hopefully can make a difference for more families.

Today in the United Kingdom, 13 babies die a day, and 1 woman a week, this is a country with advanced healthcare, this is how dangerous childbirth is. I am very conscious of the fact the two people who make my world could have been one of these impersonal statistics and I have attached photos of us all, and the difficult task we want to undertake out of respect for them.

If it were not for incredible healthcare and good luck, this fundraising page would be much much sadder.

In Rebekah's honour I have devised a trail harder than the Bob Graham Round, with more ascent than an Everest Trek, and harder than the SAS keynote physical challenge.

Myself and a group of crazy men, will be hiking 105 miles, with 9400 metres of ascent, wild camping for six nights, across the biggest, steepest mountains in England's most beautiful region the Lake District.

We will be scattering the ashes of the Grandfather of one of the boys on top of the Old Man of Coniston.

Anybody, man or woman, is welcome to join us at any point. For more details of the routes, checkpoints, easier parts of the trek, contact me on 07860 380229 or franksharratt08@gmail.com. It could be a nice part of the walk around a flat lake, or one of the stops in the pubs we plan to refuel in, or you can push yourself physically in a very very hard endurance task.

We wanted to go through something very hard in order to raise awareness and money.

Outside of the healthcare profession, many people do not understand the dangers of childbirth and what women go through. That is why we are raising for Babylifeline, a charity dedicated to advancements in childbirth medicine.

Many men feel powerless and ineffective during the childbirth experience, I wanted to create something that we can all do, and something that might go one tenth of the way to replicating the sheer difficulty of labour, which should be called torture, and that's what I've designed with this route, torture.

We will be calling this gigantic route The Rebekah Way, out of respect for what she has achieved, and what all mother's achieve.
