Story

This October, I will be walking & cycling a total of 125 miles to help raise money for Beat the eating disorder charity💜

In the UK, 1.25M people are currently experiencing eating disorders. Beat’s 1-2-5 challenge is a month long campaign to show support for people with eating disorders.

In August, my friend Ellie passed away so I want to make her proud and raise money for a cause which meant a lot to her. I met Ellie on my first day at university and she was the kindest and brightest person. We lived together for 3 years during our uni years and she was always bringing so much joy to the house with her positivity and light. In 2023, Ellie raised over £500 for Beat by completing a skydive.

My goal is to try and match this by walking & cycling 125 miles during the month of October. 125 miles is the distance from our first year uni flat all the way to Wimbledon!

I will be posting updates on my progress on my instagram @StripesAndStages - any donations and shares will be so much appreciated🫶

We’re Beat – the UK’s eating disorder charity. Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses that can affect anyone.

Right now, at least 1.25 million (1 in 50) people in the UK have an eating disorder – and the emotional and physical damage affects millions of loved ones.

But there is hope.

With better understanding, faster diagnosis and proper treatment, recovery is possible. That’s why we’re here.

We offer people emotional support and expert advice, we work alongside healthcare professionals, and we campaign tirelessly to change policies, perceptions, and lives.

Every donation makes a difference. No matter the amount, your contribution will directly support our mission and help people access vital support.

If you’re unable to donate, help us spread awareness of eating disorders by sharing this page.

Together, we’ll end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders 💜
