We’re Beat – the UK’s eating disorder charity. Eating disorders are complex mental illnesses that can affect anyone.
Right now, at least 1.25 million (1 in 50) people in the UK have an eating disorder – and the emotional and physical damage affects millions of loved ones. But there is hope. With better understanding, faster diagnosis and proper treatment, recovery is possible. That’s why we’re here.
We offer people emotional support and expert advice, we work alongside healthcare professionals, and we campaign tirelessly to change policies, perceptions, and lives.
Eating disorders are scary, isolating and lonely illnesses. We want to make everyone feel like we stand with the 1.25 million sufferers in the UK today and that we are there for them.
This year, our fantastic campaign ‘Beat 1-2-5’ will take place during the month of October.
Come together with friends and family and capture your creativity for Beat using the numbers 1, 2 and 5!
* A 1 mile walk, 2 x per week with 5 friends?
* Making 125 bracelets to sell?
* A walk and talk at 1.25pm with colleagues?
* Baking 12 cupcakes using 5 different flavours?
The possibilities are endless!
Every donation makes a difference. No matter the amount, your contribution will directly support our mission and help people access vital support. If you’re unable to donate, help us spread awareness of eating disorders by sharing this page. Together, we’ll end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders 💜
