Story
Hello wonderful people! Thank you so much for clicking on the link :)
On the 18th of May, I will be running the Hackney Moves Half Marathon.
I am running in support of the Hackney Migrant Centre (HMC), alongside two of my flatmates and an estimated 24,000 runners. There is a promise of vibrant street art, music, food, drink, and entertainment on course. So, if you are around that weekend and would like to soak up the festival vibes and support, please come along!
The Hackney Migrant Centre is a charity which provides care and support to refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants in need, offering free advice on immigration and welfare, as well as providing warm meals and a community base.
Having worked with STAR and other refugee charities, and having seen the incredible good which comes from HMC, I am really pleased to have been given a platform to raise awareness for their work.
You can read more about the charity here: https://hackneymigrantcentre.org.uk
And examples of individuals that they have helped here: http://hackneymigrantcentre.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/People-in-Transition-pdf-compressed.pdf
Supporting spaces which foster community, comfort, hope and home for some of the most vulnerable in London is more important now than ever. If you can, please consider supporting me as I raise awareness for this incredible organisation - and motivate me to juuust keep running.
Every penny counts!
