Walk Tall for The Joshua Tree

Gareth Thomas is raising money for The Joshua Tree

Walk Tall for The Joshua Tree · 5 September 2026 ·

Walk Tall for The Joshua Tree is our biggest community event of the year. Participants take steps to raise vital funds, helping provide emotional, practical, and long-term support to children and families affected by childhood cancers.

Story

I’m taking part in Walk Tall for The Joshua Tree on Saturday 5th September to support families affected by childhood cancer.

I will be 75 years old 4 days before the event and want to show that age is no barrier to helping and supporting a great cause.

. I know I am very fortunate at my age to be able to walk 20k and that there are a great many people who for lots reasons are unable to do so. I'm asking for the target of £750 which represents £10 for every year I've been alive.

Thanks in advance to all who are supporting me

The Joshua Tree provides essential emotional, therapeutic, and practical support to children, parents, and siblings affected by childhood cancers.

Their safe, welcoming centres in Cheshire and North Wales, along with outreach and online services, ensure no family faces this journey alone.

By supporting my Walk Tall, you’re helping The Joshua Tree continue offering these essential services, creating hope, resilience, and brighter futures for families when they need it most.

Thank you for your support, every step I take and every donation makes a real difference!
