Story
Ride for Valour. Ride for Those Who Served.
I am a 22-year veteran of the Canadian Army. During my service, I developed Operational Stress Injuries (OSI) that have affected many aspects of my life. While I continue to manage mine, I know all too well that many veterans and first responders live with far more severe injuries. OSI and PTSD affect far too many. Their impact reaches beyond the individual—spouses and children carry that weight as well.
Wounded Warriors Canada delivers programs that support not only those who serve, but also the families who serve alongside them—helping spouses and children understand, heal, and grow.
In 2026, The Road To Valour Team will undertake a 2,500 km unsupported bicycle ride from Vancouver to Winnipeg, honouring Canada’s Victoria Cross recipients along the route.
The journey will begin at the regimental home of Canada’s last living Victoria Cross recipient, Ernest “Smokey” Smith, VC, and will conclude on Winnipeg’s historic Valour Road.
Our goal is to raise funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada, supporting life-changing—and family-saving—mental health programs for veterans, first responders, and their families.
