Story
Ride for Valour. Ride for Those Who Served.
In 2026, The Road To Valour team will undertake a 2,500 km unsupported bicycle ride from Vancouver to Winnipeg—a journey of endurance, remembrance, and respect.
This ride is more than distance. It is a moving tribute to Canadian courage and sacrifice, honouring Victoria Cross recipients along the route and sharing the stories of those whose bravery shaped our nation.
The journey will begin at the regimental home of Canada’s last living Victoria Cross recipient, Ernest “Smokey” Smith, VC, and will conclude on Winnipeg’s historic Valour Road—the only street in Canada named in honour of three Victoria Cross winners.
Along the way, The Road To Valour team will raise funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada, supporting the delivery of life-changing mental health programs for veterans, first responders, and their families.
Too many of these Canadian heroes continue to suffer with operational stress injuries and mental health challenges as a direct result of the work they do to serve and protect us. This ride is about ensuring they are not forgotten—and that help is there when they need it most.
