Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have been completing charity events since I was 16 years old, and over the last decade, I have participated in various charity walks. For six years, I raised money for Friends of the Cancer Centre, followed by three years supporting Oddballs Foundation. This year marks my 10th year of fundraising, and I am excited to raise money for Northern Ireland Alternatives.
Northern Ireland Alternatives, based on the Shankill Road, works tirelessly with many children and young people from the area. They provide invaluable support in schools, assist those who are not in education or employment, offer family support, and deliver one-on-one mentoring among many other services. Personally, they have played a significant role in my life since I was 16; their guidance has shaped who I am today.
Through their various training programs—such as STARS, Detached Youth Work, Understanding Trauma and Addiction, Mediation Training, and Restorative Justice Training—I was able to gain essential skills that led me to earn my youth work diploma. This opportunity allowed me to become a part-time youth worker on the Shankill for six years. My experiences there paved the way for me to attend university and complete my Youth Work Degree. Today, I am proud to work full-time as a youth worker.
I will be climbing Snowdon Mountain on May 24th, 2025, with a target of raising £500 to support the incredible work that Northern Ireland Alternatives does for young people in the Greater Shankill area. Your generous contributions will directly impact these young lives and help continue this vital work. Together we can make a difference—please consider donating today.
