Story
As some of you may be aware, I was previously a Trustee and Treasurer at St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham for over 9 years, during which time we successfully funded and constructed the in-patient bed facility.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and the bereaved. They make no charge for our services, ensuring Hospice care is available to everyone. It costs over £2 million each year to keep St Cuthbert's Hospice running.
Over thirty years ago, a group of Durham residents came together for a common cause. They saw the absence of care and support available for those coming to the end of their lives and decided to take action. Thanks to their many years of fundraising and dedication, ‘Park House’ could be purchased and St Cuthbert’s Hospice opened its doors in 1988.
Since then the care St Cuthbert’s Hospice deliver has grown so they can now support people with advanced illness, people approaching the end of their lives and people who have been bereaved.
At the heart of St Cuthbert’s Hospice is the individual who is seen as a unique person deserving of respect and dignity. Their aim is to support each person, and their family and friends, helping them to make informed choices and decisions affecting their lives
Any support you could help with will be greatly appreciated 😊
