Story
In 2017 my brother Alex had life saving surgery due to ulcerative colitis. It was not something he was aware he had, and learning to live with his stoma was difficult for us all. From that day onwards Alex's health suffered, with more operations, reversals and diabetes, keeping himself healthy became hard. I ran my first ever Marathon to support Alex on his journey to recovery. And this year I'll be running the Dublin marathon in honour of his life. Alex's dream was to live in Spain, and he worked so hard to make it come true. A couple of weeks ago he did it. Finally arriving where he wanted to be. But unfortunately it was only for a few days before his life ended. For everyone who ever met Alex, he was totally awesome. He was just the best. He was the most kind, caring, loving and generous person anyone could ever wish to have in their life. He touched so many in his short life, always smiling and never complaining. Colitis is an awful disease that effects people not just physically but also mentally. It's a hard journey to travel and many people suffer in silence or alone. I'm hoping to raise some money to help support other sufferers , their families, carers and friends. Let's make a difference to others in Alex's situation. Please donate using the link provided.
