50% of us will experience cancer at some point in our lives and, though treatment has made incredible strides, the sad reality is that it still claims numerous lives every year.

St Wilfrid's, whether through direct work as a hospice itself, or through its work in the community, provides an invaluable level of support for those in need. After countless setbacks in his fight against cancer, the care St Wilfrid’s provided to Dan was exceptional. Through the support he received, Dan was able to see out his last days in dignity, pain free and in a space especially setup to support him.

With kindness, compassion, and understanding, St Wilfrid’s care and support also extended beyond Dan’s time there, with counselling, funeral planning and financial advice also available to his family.

Before Dan went in, his family were daunted by the word 'hospice' and what it implied, but words can't describe the incredible help St Wilfrid’s provided as Dan and his family faced his passing.
