Story
I am running the 2025 MBNA Chester Marathon on Sunday 5th October and am proud to be raising funds for two incredible charities: The Tongole Foundation and Epilepsy Action.
The Tongole Foundation was founded by my boss David Cole, alongside David Gridley, Louise Morgan, Tio Kalanga, and her father Bentry, following the heartbreaking loss of Tio’s brother Vitu Kalanga, who tragically died in a road accident. He was just 16 years old.
Determined to turn this tragedy into a legacy, Vitu’s family and friends created The Tongole Foundation to honour his memory. Their work focuses on children's education and wildlife conservation in Malawi, aiming to improve the standard of living for as many people as possible.
In the near future, I’m hoping to join one of their volunteer trips to Malawi, spending 10 days helping to build, restore, paint, and decorate one of the three schools the Foundation supports. We’ll also be raising funds ahead of the trip to buy materials and resources for the schools.
Any donations, big or small, would mean the world to me and go directly towards making a difference in both of the causes I will be supporting.
Thank you so much for your support.
