Story
I am taking part in the zip wire challenge across the pitch at Elland Road to raise funds for the Leeds United Foundation. This is the official club charity and they deliver amazing programmes across Leeds to all members of the community.
As a headteacher in a Leeds school I worked with the Foundation and saw first hand the brilliant work they do with children and young people across Leeds. When I retired, 3 years ago, I became a trustee and have had the opportunity to see the work that goes on behind the scenes to make a difference to so many lives .
I wanted to take this opportunity to raise funds to support their fantastic programmes and raise awareness of the brilliant job they do.
Anyone who knows me will know that I have never done anything remotely adventurous and this is well out of my comfort zone! Hopefully this will inspire you to support me in this challenge.
Every day, through the power of the badge the Foundation creates opportunities for young people and their communities to thrive. Through their education, wellbeing, and sports programmes they empower and inspire them to grow in confidence, develop skills, and find a sense of belonging, positively impacting their families and the community around them. The impact of their work is real and lasting.

Every pound you give helps fund vital programmes that empower the next generation and strengthen our community.
£10 supports - A healthy snack pack for a child at a Health Holidays camp.
£20 supports - A mentoring session for a vulnerable young person.
£40 would buy kit (tee shirt, shorts and socks) for a participant.
£50 would pay for a multi-sport taster day with local schools.
