We are friends and runners from Colombo City Running (CCR) and Colombo Night Run (CNR) run clubs. As a collective we call ourselves the runners of CXR. We hope to run the 'Dog Jog' virtually. 4 runs of 25k each to total 100kms.

Every day, street dogs across Sri Lanka suffer from injury, disease and neglect, often with little or no access to the veterinary care they desperately need.

For more than a decade, WECare has been changing that. Founded by veterinary surgeon Dr Janey Lowes, the charity has already helped more than 30,000 animals through lifesaving treatment, large-scale neutering and vaccination programmes, and community education.

Now it's time for the next chapter.

To help build Sri Lanka's first purpose-built veterinary hospital dedicated to street dogs, Janey is running the entire length of Sri Lanka – over 600km! But 'The Dog Jog' is about so much more than one incredible challenge. It's a chance for all of us to help create a future where no street dog is denied life-saving veterinary care.
