So many families in our City are struggling after the double whammy of a pandemic and a cost of living crisis. This has led to a big increase in the numbers of children suffering with mental health challenges, behavioural difficulties and school phobia. These years cannot be lived again and too many children are missing out.

The Island helps them to find their way in the world by providing an adult mentor to listen to them, help them find enjoyable activities and be a reliable feature of their lives. We also run youth groups, school holiday activities and offer counselling and tuition for children facing particularly difficult issues.
