Story
Hi everyone! I’m Grace, and I’m taking on the challenge of hiking the Atlas Mountains to raise money for Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity. I’m a second year pharmacy student from south wales. With my degree I can definitely understand how stressful university life can be, trying to balance work, and socials is a minefield.
Since starting university I have struggled with homesickness, finances, stress and anxiety about my future. This is not a stand alone experience and I know many other students face similar struggles. I wish during my wobbles I knew about this charity, I want to make it known to students that there is support out there, to help those in similar situations as me!
Hiking has always been one of my passions. This journey through the Atlas Mountains will be both a physical and mental test, but I’m doing it for a cause that means so much to me.
Student Minds is the UK’s student mental health charity. Their goal is to transform the state of student mental health so that everyone in higher education can truly thrive. They support students to develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills to look after their own mental health, support their peers, and create positive change. They also work collaboratively with universities, students’ unions, and other organisations to take a whole-university approach to mental health.
Every donation will help Student Minds continue their vital work — empowering students and creating lasting change in university communities across the UK.
If you can, please support my hike and this incredible charity. Together, we can help students everywhere feel supported.
