Story

Firstly thank you for clicking on my fundraising page.

As many of you know, my dearest Dick (Richard) was diagnosed with melanoma in his eye in 2022 and sadly passed away on the 6th January 2025. Losing a best friend is undescribable. He was just the best! There are no words to even explain how special he was. I am so grateful that he has been my best friend for the past 14 years and that we have so many memories to look back on. Best friends are the family that you choose and Dick was certainly that.

Even though he was only 32 years young, Dick loved life and had so much wisdom to share. He gave the best hugs and genuinely wanted you to succeed. He listened to me moan continuously, mainly about our Thomas but somehow our conversations would end with your dastardly belly laugh, which never failed to put a smile on my face.

You had such a sweet tooth and you always supplied me with Lindor chocolate balls and I blame you for my addiction! My Selfie King, I now can't secretly hide and pretend that it's you that wants to take photos!

So as some of you may remember, I ran the London Marathon in 2023 holding Nicola's hand the whole way. Although we had each other on the run, seeing Dickys face cheering us on whilst he ate brownies from the side line was one to remember. He was always my biggest cheerleader and he has been at every running event I have completed. Running was not his thing but he would always be at the end with celebratory bubbles.

He would think that Nicola and I are mad, especially with only 2 months to go but would just say 'you do you'. When we think of Brighton, we always think of you. Your old stomping ground will never be the same!

Without a doubt, there is no one else that I would rather cross the finish line (again) with - my twinny and absolute strength through this all. we've got this, Nicola. This one is for you Dicky 🩷🩷

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

If you want to also support my twin....
