Why I’m Running the London Marathon 2026 for the Neuromuscular Centre
Some people run marathons for the challenge.
I’m running this one because the Neuromuscular Centre has changed the lives of two people I love.
My wife and my sister‑in‑law both live with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, a progressive condition that slowly takes away mobility and independence. It’s something you can’t train your way out of, can’t fight with willpower alone, and can’t ignore. But what you can do is surround yourself with people who understand — and that’s exactly what the Neuromuscular Centre (NMC) provides.
The NMC has become more than a support service.
It’s a lifeline.
A community.
A place where people with neuromuscular conditions can access physiotherapy, specialist gym equipment, emotional support, employment opportunities, and — maybe most importantly — a sense of belonging.
I’ve seen firsthand how much strength, confidence, and independence the NMC gives to my family. And I want to give something back.
So on 26 April 2026, I’ll be on the start line of the London Marathon, running as part of Team NMC. Every mile I run is for them — and for every family who relies on the centre the way we do.
I’ve already logged over 264 miles in training, and I’ll keep pushing myself all the way to race day. But I can’t do this part alone.
Your donation, no matter the size, directly supports the NMC’s work and helps people living with neuromuscular conditions stay active, connected, and hopeful.
If you’re able to support me, thank you.
If you can share my page, thank you.
If you’re cheering from the sidelines — thank you.
Together, we can make a real difference.
