Ground Control Client Services Team is raising money for RNLI - Royal National Lifeboat Institution
In memory of Simon Wiggins
Story
In the month of November, the Ground Control GM Client Services Team will be undertaking a fundraising drive to support our ‘Charity of the Year’, the RNLI, in memory of our colleague Simon Wiggins who sadly passed away this year. Simon personally chose the RNLI as he enjoyed many holidays with his boys down at the beach and the RNLI do an amazing job keeping our coasts safe, powered by dedicated volunteers. You’ll no doubt have seen their lifeboats out and about over the years and it is in this very year that they celebrate their 200th anniversary.
The team will be undertaking the following fundraising events throughout the month of November including…
• 3rd November – Lisa Bussey will be doing the Billericay 10k
• 6th November – the GCHQ team will be holding a bake sale in the office
• 11th November to 15th November – the GCHQ team will be cycling in the office (with big thanks to Studio360 gym who are loaning the team a static exercise bike for the week) to Southend Lifeboat Station and back 6 times, which is 21 miles in one direction only and totals 126 miles across the week!!!
• 22nd November – the Client Services team will be holding a quiz, hosted by our quiz masters Olly and Kieran
• For the entire month of November – Danielle, Sophie, Kieran, Becky, Emily, Megan C, Michelle M, Megan H, Chalene, Zak, Louise, Sarah, Laura S, Chloe, Charlie, Jack, Carmel, Maddie, Kirsty, Laura I and Karen (a team of 20) who are spread far and wide across the UK, will be undertaking a 150km walk/run/swim/cycle challenge EACH!! To be completed across the month of November
• 29th November – the team challenge will then finish with the team heading out from the office midday on Friday and after catching the train, walking the remaining distance to Southend Lifeboat station right at the end of the pier!!
Any amount you can donate to our fundraiser would be greatly appreciated and Ground Control will be £4£ matching donations which will go directly to the RNLI.
