RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Ground Control are pleased to announce they are partnering with RNLI for the next year, as their 'Charity of the Year', in memory of Simon Wiggins. Simon sadly passed away on 22nd May 2024 after a long and gruelling battle with cancer leaving behind his partner Zoe and his two boys Lucas and Lewis. Simon worked in the GM division for almost 8 years at GC, starting as a CM and growing his career up to SCM, then onto ROM and then finally to become the Data Lead for GM. Simon fought cancer bravely until the end and he was the one who chose the RNLI as our charity, as he enjoyed many holidays with the boys down at the beach. He understood the amazing job that the RNLI undertake keeping our coasts safe and it is in his memory that we will fundraise for this wonderful charity for the next year.
