Story
I am a Clinical Psychologist working within Kent and Medway NHS Social Care Partnership Trust’s inpatient rehabilitation services. I started running again in July last year after a ten-year break, and completed my first ever marathon in October last year. This year I have decided to challenge myself further by signing up for an Ultramarathon of 50km, just over 31 miles, on May 31st along the river Medway from Rochester to Tonbridge.
I am hoping to raise money for the inpatient rehabilitation services that provide important support for people with enduring and complex mental health needs.
At Ethelbert Road a dedicated team team of nursing and support staff provide 24-hour support to individuals, and provide medical, psychological, and occupational therapy support. Staff will tailor the persons care package and will use a recovery-based focus to help support them in identifying their care needs and rehabilitation goals. The unit aims to empower individuals with the skills and support to achieve a sustainable recovery.
Any amount that you feel able to spare will be greatly appreciated and will go along way in helping to enhance the rehabilitation opportunities for people at the unit, and might give me the extra push to make it across the line!
Thank you,
Haydn
