Education has been at the heart of our charity over the past 22 years. With the success of the Rahma Academy, a landmark project that was opened in 2013, we decided to expand further in order to facilitate the high demand for a multi functional educational complex - The Rahma Institute.

Albania is one of the poorest countries in Europe. Our beneficiaries are some of the most disadvantaged children living in communities with inadequate educational opportunities. Unfortunately, many children here are lacking basic education due to poverty, gender inequality, lack of access and lack of resources. By providing both Islamic and secular education, the Rahma Institute aims to be a driving force for social and economic change. This £6 million project will promote sustainability and longevity and the education children receive here will be an opportunity for them to break free of the poverty they face for generations to come.

We were fortunate enough to visit Albania and see first hand the work that has been done by Rahma, visit the academy and the site where the Rahma Institute will be built. The see for ourselves the present teachers and learn how they were once students of the Rahma Academy and are now teaching in the Rahma Madaaris was heart touching and overwhelming.
