Story
Hello all, I am very excited to be taking on the 2026 TCS London Marathon, on Sunday 26th April! I will proudly be running as part of Team MediCinema charity to help bring the power of cinema to NHS patients in hospitals across the UK.
MediCinema builds and runs fully-equipped cinemas in hospitals, offering patients and their loved ones a vital escape from the wards. Being in hospital can be scary, lonely, and overwhelming – especially for children, mental health patients, and patients receiving palliative care.
MediCinema offers a rare escape. When the lights dim and a film begins, something shifts. Patients become people again, not defined by illness or pain, but immersed in story, laughter, and shared connection.
Working as a Nurse at MediCinema, I have seen first-hand the incredible positive impact it has on patients and those closest to them. Witnessing that difference has inspired me to take on this run in support of such an important cause.
MediCinema:
• Builds and runs fully accessible cinemas in hospitals across the UK
• Screens the latest film releases at no cost to patients or the NHS
• Helps reduce anxiety and stress, improve recovery, and increase emotional resilience for more than 20,000 people each year
They’re completely free for patients and come at no cost to the NHS, but with no government funding, MediCinema relies entirely on donations.
Any donations will be so greatly appreciated! Your support could help organise more screenings, keep our hospital cinemas running, and give thousands of people a moment of joy when they need it most.
A massive thank you from the bottom of my heart, Hannah x
