Between 17 March and 11 June 2026, two magnificent tall ships will visit 22 ports around the UK’s coastline. I’ll be joining the crew in Leith, Edinburgh on 27 April, sailing to Wick, Stromness (Orkney), Stornoway (Lewis), Tanera, and Oban.

As an experienced sailor, this isn’t just about the adventure—it’s about being surrounded by my tribe. The military is like a family, and has been since I was 16; it doesn’t matter where you come from or who you are, you’re always welcome, and connection comes easily. I've really missed my military family as I now work as a Sports Massage and Holistic Therapist. My best times were where I worked in small, tightly knit teams on Operational Tours.

Veteran suicide rates are higher than the national average, but that statistic is only the visible tip of the iceberg. Beneath it are many veterans quietly struggling—with injury, trauma, loss of identity, or the challenge of finding their place again in civilian life. Turn to Starboard exists to help change that.

Sailing is a powerful way to step outside your comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment. The sense of freedom at sea is hard to describe, and through shared challenges, veterans reconnect with themselves and others, rebuild confidence, and rediscover a sense of purpose.

This expedition is raising funds to help Turn to Starboard purchase Pellow, a second training vessel. This will enable them to support many more veterans in the years ahead.
