Story
Hey everyone !!
I'm Harri Pickett, a second year biology student at the University of Bath from New Zealand. I am choosing to challenge myself beyond my studies this year in the name of Student Minds, fundraising £2000 for this incredible cause before taking on the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco in June 2026. This will be a test of my physical and mental endurance, determination and resilience.
Moving to university is a huge change for all young adults. As an international student, I know how daunting it can seem to leave your family and friends behind to build a platform for yourself in a new environment. I know how it feels to feel lonely, homesick or anxious, and how important it is to have a strong support system in place.
Student Minds acts as the foundation for mental health support in universities across the UK, bringing together 102 universities in the 25/26 academic year to commit to the UK Mental Health Charter Programme. This programme provides a framework to ensure mental health remains a strategic priority and student voices remain at the heart of cultural change, decision-making and support services at universities. They provide essential advice and resources to young adults during the uncertainty of student life.
Every donation counts, take this opportunity to support this important cause and our team at the University of Bath's journey to raise over £100,000 for Student Minds before our challenges in 2026!
Thank you all for your support, stay tuned to this page to see the fundraising events we have lined up for the year! It's going to be awesome :)
