Story
Women's health, and the work of Wellbeing of Women, is an important area to me. I wanted to raise money for Wellbeing of Women after experiencing first hand the impact of women's health issues. For me, this has meant difficulties in being able to exercise regularly, being out and about, and just general day to day living.
I've thought a lot about what could be a challenge but still be manageable and I've chosen to try to solve a Rubik's cube whilst skating backwards. I'm aiming to be able to do this in under a minute! And I'm going to give myself a couple of months to get there. But since my health has been so up and down I had a first try as a practice session where I managed to do it in 1 minute 30 seconds. Beginners luck aside, I'm aiming to beat my first time (and hopefully get under the minute mark).
About Wellbeing of Women:
Our ambition is to ensure that women’s lives are not limited by their gynaecological and reproductive health. We do this by investing in world class research, championing education, raising awareness and tackling the taboos that exist in women’s health, influencing guidelines, policy and practice and empowering women to advocate for themselves.
Our research is focussed across a woman’s life course and includes period problems, pregnancy and childbirth issues including preterm birth, gynaecological cancers, and menopause.
