Story
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on one of my lifelong goals—running the London Marathon. I’ll be running in support of a charity that means a great deal to both Amelia and I - ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices).
Earlier this year, we were over the moon when we found out that Amelia was pregnant with our second child—something we had dreamed of to complete our family and give Rosie a sibling. Tragically, during our 12-week scan, we received devastating news. Our baby had an increased amount of fluid behind their neck and a heart abnormality. Our world stopped. We found ourselves going back and forth between hospitals in London and Essex speaking with specialists who told us our baby had a very slim chance of surviving beyond 20 weeks. We were faced with the heartbreaking reality of considering termination.
We felt completely lost, with no one around us who had experienced anything similar. That’s when we were introduced to ARC through the hospital. Their website and resources helped us feel less alone and guided us through each painful step. Reading stories from others who had been down a similar path gave us comfort during the darkest time of our lives.
Running the London Marathon is my way of giving back—just a small gesture to thank ARC for the incredible support they gave us when we needed it most.
After seeing many doctors and consultants we had to make the gut wrenching decision for Amelia to go ahead with a termination in June 2025.
I’ll be running with our angel baby in my heart every step of the way. All donations would be appreciated, thank you so much for your support ❤️
