Story
ARC's services are for everyone throughout pregnancy and beyond. Over 20,000 expectant parents a year in the UK are told that their baby may have a genetic or structural condition. This causes a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty for expectant parents and their families.
Our helpline and resources provide parents with non-directive information and support before, during and after antenatal screening. We also provide training and support to help healthcare professionals provide the best possible care to every patient facing a suspected or diagnosed fetal anomaly.
Our fundraising champions who have previously run the TCS London Marathon for us absolutely love their experience, sending us wonderful stories and photos afterwards:
''What a fantastic experience it was to cross the finish line and achieve something I never thought I could do, especially whilst doing it for an amazing charity that's been so helpful to my wife and I...''
We are a small charity, receiving no statutory or NHS funding. Your support will therefore make such a difference. Just:
- £5 pays for our helpline to support one anxious parent or couple
- £20 pays for our website for a day – providing essential information for parents and healthcare professionals
- £500 provides one hospital unit with 250 ARC handbooks, for parents and professionals coping with the implications of a prenatal diagnosis.
Please support ARC by running the 2026 TCS London Marathon for ARC and help us to be there for anxious, expectant and bereaved parents in the future.
