Story
On 26 April 2026 I'm running the London Marathon for Hospice UK.
As many of you will I know I have dedicated the majority of my life to playing football. Whether that was academy football during my teenage years or more recently non league.
However, over the last 2 seasons I have been struggling with a reoccurring shoulder injury which has caused my shoulder to dislocate 5 times.
I even had surgery to fix the issue but unfortunately the dislocation has reoccurred. So sadly for the time being I’ve have had to take a step away from football.
I’ve never been one to feel sorry for myself and whilst still wanting to push myself I decided to try and achieve one of my bucket list goals and apply for the London Marathon.
Fortunately, I was able to gain a charity spot through Hospice UK. Not only am I able to find an avenue to push myself but also to help support a great cause.
Training for a marathon isn't easy! I'm doing it because I want to fight for hospice care for all who need it. I have personally seen first hand how their help can bring comfort to those who need it.
Hospice care eases the pain of death and dying, letting people focus on living, right until the end. Too many miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, now and forever.
As the national champion for hospices, Hospice UK supports over 200 hospices across the UK, helping them deliver the best, most personalised care to 310,000 people each year. But hospices are underfunded and under immense pressure.
Your support can make a difference. Donate to my page and join me in promoting and protecting hospice care for all.
