Story
This March, I’m taking part in The Big March – 31 miles that matter!
I’ll be walking every day to smash the 31 mile target in support of The Haemophilia Society, helping to raise awareness of bleeding disorders.
This charity is very close to my heart. Around six years ago, I was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder called Von Willebrand Disease. It’s something many people have never heard of, which is why I’m proud to use this challenge to help spread awareness.
This will be a bigger challenge for me, as I also live with other disabilities that can affect my ability to walk, including hip dysplasia, hypermobility and arthritis. I will eventually need a hip replacement but that is being put off as long as possible through physiotherapy and pain management as apparently I’m still classed as young 😂 and my bleeding disorder makes surgery a bit more complex. But I’m determined to give it my all for a cause that means so much to me. Plus it’ll make all the hours I put in at the gym worth it!
If you’re able to donate or share my page, I’d be incredibly grateful! Every donation really does make a difference. ❤️
