My name is Hazel Ramage. I am cycling from Cambridge to Berlin to raise money for people in crisis in Palestine. People whose lives are threatened every day, who have lost their families, who are hungry, who are hurt and who need our support. Babies are loosing limbs before they can ever learn to walk, orphaned with nowhere to go. Generations of children will be handicapped and traumatised from this war. A life of incredible suffering lies ahead for Gaza’s children. Your donation will help.

Regardless of whom, and where they were born, every person in this world has human rights. A right to freedom, a right to equality, a right to healthcare, education, a safe place to live and protection from any kind of harm. Your donation, whether it be big or small will help them survive.

My trip will be physically and emotionally demanding. I am cycling 650 miles unaccompanied in 8 days, completing the longest distance I have ever traveled by bike. Being Jewish with German heritage, I feel lucky to be able to cross borders without the threats that existed 100 years ago. My great Grandfather left Essen and fled from the Nazis in 1937, in April I will go back to Essen, cycle through the city and return to my family’s synagogue in his honour. I’m excited for this adventure, nervous too, but I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.
