Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m joining some amazing and courageous swimming friends to take on the scariest swim challenge of our lives - swimming the English Channel to raise money for Aspire who are a national charity supporting people with spinal cord injury from injury to independence.
I grew up loving swimming but only came to open water swimming a few years ago in May 2021 to help me through some physical health investigations that were happening at the time. I’ve become hooked as I love the calm it can bring to my racing mind, the exercise and the community of friends I’ve made. Five of those amazing friends are joining me on this challenge as we form Team Aspire Pandas - Captain Sylvia Rolfe, Jane Sawyer, Rachel Honey, Helen Towers and Folly Golding.
We’ve started the training for this challenge and we’ve all suffered some highs and lows but we’ve pulled together and supported one another which has been amazing. It’s not going to be easy, it wouldn’t be a challenge if it was, but I know working together we will reach France and with all our friends supporting us through these pages and the events we are doing we will reach our targets and the vital funds Aspire need to continue their amazing work.
Thank you for reading this and for any support you can give us, if you can’t donate a share of the page would be amazing and much appreciated.
Many thanks Helen
