Story
The Jumbulance Trust aims to transform accessible transport and create unforgettable experiences for all travellers. Their two coaches, called Jumbulances, can accommodate multiple wheelchairs, beds, and medical equipment. They feature lift access, an accessible toilet, hoist facilities and privacy curtains. Fundraising helps subsidise travel costs, enabling groups of all ages and abilities to travel within the UK and Europe. It also supports the provision of volunteers for those needing extra assistance.
I've been a volunteer carer and group leader on 7 trips, and I know just how much joy, fun and independence they provide, to people who would otherwise find it difficult to travel. Regardless of where we go, many of our travellers say their holiday begins the moment they get onto the Jumbulance. It's a place of laughter, tears, singing, chatting, hugging, drinking tea, eating cake, eating more cake. And it's amazing how 24 hours of travel can pass when catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.
