Story

We’re walking 40 miles in one day across the North York Moors to raise money for Darlington Assistance for Refugees (DAR).

As part of DAR’s Strides for Sanctuary 2025, Tom and myself are taking on the Lyke Wake Walk—a demanding moorland route from Osmotherley to Ravenscar. It’s going to be long, tough, and often bleak—but we’re doing it in solidarity with people who’ve faced far harder journeys to reach safety.

DAR is a charity, run by volunteers that provide a warm welcome and work alongside refugees and asylum seekers as they rebuild their lives in Darlington and the North East of England.
