Story

Daredevils – get ready to fly! The Trent Bridge Community Trust’s thrilling zipwire challenge is back, giving you the chance to glide 190m across our iconic ground from 25m up, hitting speeds of up to 40mph.

I lost my Dad to Dementia 2 years ago and although he couldn't remember much, whenever he went to Forget Me Notts, he would suddenly come alive again and we would see the old Dad/Grandad having a laugh and being himself. It was fantastic to see him like this and we cannot thank Forget Me Notts, not only for the help they gave him, but also Mum and the rest of our family.

Without this, we would not have had those moments and it became special, to the degree Mum still goes now and enjoys talking with those going through the same, but also those who have also lost their partners since Dad died.

When Dad first died, we did the Memory walk to raise money, this time I thought we would raise the bar a little and do the Trent Bridge Community Trust Zip Wire Challenge - I may regret this when it's time to go, but it is such a worthy cause as the money goes to Forget Me Notts and the Notts in Mind, which is for Mental Health, which is also close to my Heart.
