Story
Many families across the globe have been forced to leave their homes because of war, persecution, and hardship. Right now, many displaced refugees are living in extremely difficult conditions, often without reliable access to warm clothing, food, or basic support.
I’m raising money for a local Hertfordshire charity, Herts for Refugees, who work directly to provide practical aid and dignity to those who have lost so much. Every donation will help deliver essentials, support services, and hope to people who urgently need it.
For my Muslim brothers and sisters, our faith reminds us of the importance of compassion and standing with the oppressed. Allah tells us in the Qur’an to care for the traveller, the needy, and those in difficulty, and the Prophet ﷺ taught us that the believers are like one body—when one part suffers, the whole body responds. As we approach the last ten nights of Ramadan — the most blessed nights of the year — we search for Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power, which the Qur’an tells us is better than a thousand months. These are nights when acts of charity and kindness are multiplied beyond what we can imagine. Supporting displaced families and those seeking safety is a beautiful way to seek reward in these sacred nights and embody the mercy that Ramadan calls us to.
And for friends of all faiths or none, this is simply about humanity. When people are forced to flee their homes, the least we can do is help them find safety, dignity, and kindness in the places they arrive.
Any contribution—big or small—can make a real difference. Thank you for helping bring relief and hope to people who need it most.
