Pictured above is my lovely Nan, Hazel. This photo was taken on her 80th birthday. The little girl is my youngest, she was 1 at the time. The oldest & youngest of the huge family I belong to.

Back in 2017, I lost my Nan to the big 'C'.

Before we knew it, she was whipped up from her cosy home into Lincoln hospital and soon after, offered a place in St B's Hospice. I'd never experienced anything like this before, it all happened so fast and I had no idea what to expect.

Needless to say, the team did a super job taking care of Hazel and all of the family that sat with her day in, day out, catching every last moment we could before the invetible. The staff were so supportive and kind throughout the whole process. To be honest, there isn't any amount of words that can describe the hero's that work in that building or industry. All the way through from the volunteers to the highest ranking professionals. And to think ... this service is FREE!!

As a small gesture, I'd like to throw myself 15,000 ft out of an aircraft & hopefully raise some funds to give back to the well deserving charity.

On the 21st April, I will do just that!

She'd think I'm bonkers for doing this, but you know me Nan, I'm very passionate about giving back to people that go above & beyond for others. Plus, it is something I've always wanted to tick off the bucket list. Fear not, it's a tandem skydive so there shouldn't be any requirements for a dustpan & brush on the ground.

For those that aren't familiar, St Barnabas Hospice is a local independent charity who supports more than 10,500 people across Lincolnshire with a life-limiting or terminal illness each year. They deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. They aim to enable them to live as fully as they are able for however many days, weeks or months they have left.

They are reliant on the financial support the community provides, to be there for more patients, their families and carers, every day of the year.
