Story

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, I’ve had a couple of rocky years. Back in November 2022, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It was an aggressive form, covering more than half my prostate, so I opted for surgery. The operation took place at the end of February, and for nine months things were going well — until my blood results started to rise again.

I was then recommended for hormone and radiotherapy treatment at Christie’s (20 sessions), which I completed in August 2024. I’m very grateful to say I’ve now been clear for over 12 months, with a blood count of 0.1.

Since December 2023, I’ve been a member of Prostate Cancer Support. They provide free PSA blood tests for men whose GPs won’t offer them, and they’ve been an incredible source of help to me over the last two years. Now, I’ve decided it’s time to give something back.

On 6th October, I’ll be taking on a hike to St. John’s Fortress in Kotor, Montenegro — that’s 1,350 steps to the top. I’ve been training in the gym for the past three months to get ready.

I’m asking for sponsorship to help me reach my goal. With 489 friends on my Facebook page, I thought I should go for a target of £500. I’ll share photos from my journey along the way.

Thank you all in advance for your support!
